Ana Botín

Group Executive Chairman, Banco Santander

Born in 1960 in Santander, Spain. Graduate in Economics, Bryn Mawr.
Joined the Board of Directors in 1989.

After a period at JP Morgan (1980-1988), Ms Botin joined the Bank to lead Santander’s expansion in Latin America. She served as Executive Chairman of Banesto (2002-2010) and Chief Executive Officer of Santander UK (2010-2014).

Other significant positions: She is a Non-Executive Director of the Coca-Cola Company and a member of the MIT CEO Advisory Board. Ms Botin is also founder and Chair of the CYD Foundation (supporting higher education) and Empieza por Educar (the Spanish affiliate of Teach for All).
