Fiona Maharg-Bravo is Madrid columnist
for BreakingViews, the real-time
ThomsonReuters opinion column, and a
regular contributor to The Economist.
Based in Madrid since 2008, Fiona had previously covered banking, energy, transport and Spain for BreakingViews in London. She also spent time with the Financial Times in 2002 as winner of the Nico Colchester Fellowship.
Before becoming a journalist, Fiona worked nearly five years in banking, first at JPMorgan in equity capital markets and leveraged finance groups and then at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Fiona has a BA/MA (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Chicago in Political Science and International Relations and a Diploma in Economics from Cambridge University.
